Clonkill (@1.08) vs Crookedwood (@7.0)

Our Prediction:

Clonkill will win

Clonkill – Crookedwood Match Prediction | 15-09-2019 10:00

This was a cagey game from early on and neither side was never any more than a few points ahead at any stage. We take on Fr.Daltons in Round 4 on Saturday next at 5:00 in TEG Cusack Park, all support would be appreciated for this crunch game. The game swung in favour of both teams at various times in the second half but thankfully, deep in injury time, we had nudged ahead and held on for a good win. A one-point victory over Brownstown gave us our second brace of points in the championship.

We got back to winning ways with a narrow hard-fought win over neighbours Clonkill. We would like to thank all who helped on the day and everyone who bought tickets or donated to the fundraiser. Well done to our own Shane McGovern came on at half time and acquitted himself well. It was point for point after that, but we managed to hang on for a vital win. Westmeath GAAWell done to the Westmeath senior hurlers and management on qualifying for the Joe McDonagh Cup final for the second year running, as the draw with Laois ensured we will meet the same opposition on Sunday 30th June in Croke Park. The winner of 1000 The Cow in The Park was Conor McCarthy. Division 3AWe had two games recently in Division 3A, but unfortunately we lost both to St.Brigids and Cullion. The senior footballers won their first-round qualifier and will meet Limerick on Saturday next in Cusack Park, best of luck to all especially former Crookedwood hurler Ronan Wallace. All support appreciated for this game. Next draw jackpot is 4850. The crucial score of the second half came courtesy of a rasping 21yd free from Shane McGovern to put us a point up. No jackpot winner, prize winners, Donal Kenny, Ellie Norris, Paul Rock. Division 2Crookedwood 1-12 Clonkill 0-14. Barry OMara is also part of the panel. As both teams had played three very close games last year, a tight game was always going to be on the cards. The hosts had the better of the first half exchanges and led us by two at half-time. I think last November in Kilkenny, when we all heard the sad news about Annabel, it really struck a chord with everyone across the country, said Henry, adding that the success of Saturdays event underlined what the GAA is all about. He paid tribute to Annabels parents, Enda (former Westmeath hurler and Clonkill clubman) and Eileen (ne ODriscoll, Delvin), and their family. Speaking afterwards, Henry Shefflin said that he was delighted to be able to attend the event.
