Our Prediction:

Serbia will win

Luxembourg – Serbia Match Prediction | 30-08-2019 14:45

Luxembourg recorded their biggest win against Afghanistan (6-0), in the match that was played in London in 1948. Speaking of their biggest defeat, Luxembourg were outclassed by England 9-0 on two occasions (1960, 1982). Jeff Strasser is both the most famous and the most capped Luxembourg player and it has to be noted that the former Bundesliga player made 98 appearances for the national team.

Look for Ukraine to win here by a couple of goals. Luxembourg are getting better and better, but they still have a lot of work to do before they can be getting results away to a team like Ukraine, who has been steadily building toward greatness once again in the East. Expert Verdict: Ukraine not only have a downright dominant record against Luxembourg, but they also have shown to be great in front of their fans in Lyiv as well.

Lithuania will almost always trouble when at home, even if they don't win, but on the road they will falter to the Serbians, who have had some rather impressive results of late. Expert Verdict: There was a pretty obvious disparity between the two teams that showed through in the Nations League last year, and there has not been all that much change in the time since then to suggest that Lithuania will have anything for Serbia.

The Serbs made it to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals and despite defeating star-studded Germany in the group stages of the showpiece tournament in South Africa, they eventually failed to book their place in the last 16. Serbia have been playing as an independent nation since 2006. The Eagles, though, failed to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil as they experienced all sorts of problems in their qualifying group.

Serbia -

The Ajax man comes off the back of a great club season and can contribute with goals and assists to help them pick up results. In midfield, Dusan Tadic will be a key man. The Fulham striker has scored a ton of goals for both club and country, and a goal here, especially an early one, would go a long way toward calming down the home support. Aleksandr Mitrovic didnt start on Friday night in what turned out to be a disaster for Serbia, and they will hope that their target man will help them get back on track here.

The old guard is represented by Evgeni Konoplyanka, who continues to be a pest. He also had two goals as they ran off and hid from Serbia. The newest of a series of wingers has emerged and starred now, with 21 year old Viktor Tsygankov showing hes the real deal in the victory. It will be more of the same here from Ukraine, youd have to think after they were rampant against Serbia on Friday. He scored twice in the opening 28 minutes (two minutes apart from each other) to help them on their way.

In each of their previous four meetings in all competitions Andriy Shevchenkos men emerged triumphant and the history is likely to repeat itself. Luxembourg played out a 1-1 draw with nine-man Lithuania in their last qualifying match, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Ukraine. Man City star Oleksandr Zinchenko will be yet another man to watch in the home team. Anyhow, anything but a routine home win will be a major surprise in this one.

Ukraine are looking to qualify for their third consecutive European Championships. With Portugal taking part in the UEFA Nations League Finals this weekend, these third and fourth fixtures of the group stages give a great chance for the Yellow-Blues to take a step forward in the group and they managed to do that in part on Friday night with a 5-0 thumping of Serbia taking them top of the group table.

Ongoing Tournaments Tips

Viktor Tsygankovs main position is right winger, but he is used as a left winger as well. Tsygankov came as a substitute in the 83rd minute of the 2018 World Cup qualifier. The talented winger has no less than 20 caps for Ukraine U17 team and it has to be noted that his made his senior debut for Ukraine against Finland in November, 2016.

They did get credible draws with Portugal and Germany, but they got thumped away to Ukraine, and they will be very worried now about their placement in the group and chances of moving on. Serbia come into this match with a checkered run of form in the past year accompanying them. They have five wins, four draws, and three losses, but they have not won any of their last three and have just two wins from their last six.

Having beaten the likes of Moldova, Georgia and Lithuania in the last twelve months, Luc Holtzs side wont go down without a fight here. The Red Lions will make the trip to Lviv on Monday night as rank outsiders at 25/1 withPaddyPower, but they will also make the trip on the back of some improved form that has seen them lost just one of their last five games.
